Description

Emolium special emulsion is a modern emollient destined for care of dry skin and for dermatological care in diseases characterised by dry skin: atopic dermatitis, ichthyosis, psoriasis, eczema, lichen planus and supportive during local treatment with corticosteroids. It supports care at the periods of remissions. It can be used for face and whole body. Due to its carefully composed and tested combination of active substances, it efficiently removes the causes and results of the skin’s dryness – it oils and moisturises the epidermis, limits transepidermal water loss, rebuilds the skin’s lipid coat and softens and supples the epidermis as well as soothes itching. The hypoallergic formulation of the special emulsion was developed in cooperation with dermatologists. It is recommended for use in children over 1 month old.

Usage:
Apply a thin layer of cream on thoroughly cleansed skin. For best results use at least twice a day.

Active substances:
Arlasilk® Phospholipid GLA (1%)
It is derived from seeds of borage (Borago officinalis) and it contains about 18-25% of the gammalinolenic acid (GLA). It is rich in flavonoids, organic acids and minerals.
It supplies the skin with the essential unsaturated fatty acids (EUFA). Additionally, it reinforces the lipid barrier of the epidermis, thus reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL). It increases the skin’s immunity, improves its firmness and elasticity.
Gammalinolenic acid (GLA) – it plays an important role as a building compound for cells and tissues. It is one of the phospholipids present in cell membranes but it also present in ceramides of the intracellular matrix.
Corn oil triglicerides (2%)
Derived from cold-pressed oil from corn seeds (Zea mays). They possess the structure similar to the prostaglandin’s structure. Due to the linolic acid content, they strengthen lipid barrier of the epidermis, grease the skin and limit transepidermal water lost (TEWL). They improve elasticity and resilience of the epidermis. They cause that the skin becomes less susceptible to inflammation and they possess anti-itching and anti-irritation properties.
Urea (5%)
It is one of the compounds of the natural moisturising factor (NMF). It acts synergistically with lactic acid. It helps to bind water by keratin fibers and softens the epidermis. It possesses strong anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It normalises disturbed processes of keratinisation.
Shea butter (5%)
Derived from seeds of butter tree – Magnifolia. It possesses oiling, smoothing and soothing properties. It protects and strengthens the intracellular matrix and the skin’s hydrolipid coat. It stimulates cellular metabolism and strengthens local capillary circulation. It efficiently protects from the harmful actions of the external factors and soothes the skin’s irritations.
Macadamia oil (3%)
The oil derived from Macadamia ternifolia nuts, rich in phytosterols and lecitine. Resistant to autooxidation.It perfectly oils, softens and makes the skin elastic. It soothes irritations and smoothens rough, excessively dried skin. Provides essential unsaturated fatty acids (EUFA) and phospholipids.
Sodium hyaluronate (1%)
It consists a main compound of the extracellular matrix (ECM), naturally presenting the skin.
It penetrates into the skin and it efficiently protects it from the harmful effects of the external factors. It binds water in the skin and provides an appropriate environment for differentiating keratinocytes. Additionally, it creates a protective film on the skin’s surface, which consists a protection against water loss from the cells.
Paraffin oil (8%)
Liquid paraffin, mixture of solid, saturated hydrocarbons. It has an occlusive action by creating a protective film on the skin surface, protecting it from the water lost. It softens, moisturizes and smoothens the epidermis.
