Difflam Oral Rinse is a locally acting analgesic and anti-inflammatory treatment for the relief of painful inflammatory conditions of the mouth and throat including:
TRAUMATIC CONDITIONS: Pharyngitis following tonsillectomy or the use of a naso-gastric tube
INFLAMMATORY CONDITIONS: Pharyngitis, aphthous ulcers and oral ulceration due to radiation therapy
DENTISTRY: For use after dental operations
Difflam Oral Rinse is a locally acting analgesic and anti-inflammatory treatment for the relief of painful inflammatory conditions of the mouth and throat including1:

Pour 15ml of Difflam Oral Rinse into the measuring cup. Gargle or rinse around the mouth then spit out. Do not swallow.
If you find Difflam Oral Rinse stings the inside of your mouth, it can be diluted in the measuring cup with water.

Recommended for: Adults and children (12+ years of age)
Recommended Dosage: 15 ml every 1.5 to 3 hours as required

Ingredients:
A pleasant tasting, clear, green solution, containing benzydamine hydrochloride 0.15% w/v.
Excipient(s) with known effects:
Methyl parahydroxybenzoate
Ethanol
Mint flavour with benzyl alcohol, cinnamyl alcohol, citral, citronellol, eugenol, geraniol, isoeugenol, limonene and linalool.
Do not use Difflam Oral Rinse if you are allergic to benzydamine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients listed in the Patient Information Leaflet.
Always read the label carefully. Do not use for more than seven days continuously unless under advice from a healthcare professional. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Always use Difflam Oral Rinse exactly as instructed, and check with a healthcare professional if you are not sure. If symptoms persist, seek further medical advice from your pharmacist or GP.
Suitable for adults and children over 12 years.
Age Restriction:
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase this product.
Benzydamine use is not advisable in patients with hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs.
Difflam Oral Rinse should generally be used undiluted, but if 'stinging' occurs the rinse may be diluted with water.
Avoid contact with eyes.
This medicine contains 1126 mg of alcohol (ethanol) in each 15 ml dose. The amount in 15 ml of this medicine is equivalent to less than 30 ml beer or 12 ml wine. The small amount of alcohol in this medicine will not have any noticeable effects.
Methyl hydroxybenzoate may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed)
This medicine contains 2mg benzyl alcohol in each 15 ml dose which is equivalent to 0.14mg/ml. Benzyl alcohol may cause allergic reactions.
This medicinal product contains mint flavour with benzyl alcohol, cinnamyl alcohol, citral, citronellol, eugenol, geraniol, isoeugenol, limonene and linalool. These substances may cause allergic reactions.
This medicine contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per 15 ml dose, that is to say essentially 'sodium-free'.
Pregnancy
Difflam Oral Rinse should not be used in pregnancy unless considered essential by the physician. There is no evidence of a teratogenic effect in animal studies.
Breast-feeding
Difflam Oral Rinse should not be used in lactation unless considered essential by the physician.
Effects on ability to drive and use machines: Not applicable.
